President Marcos has declared the fourth week of October of yearly as “Shifting Ahead Paddling Week Philippines” as a part of efforts to advertise the Philippines as a high paddling vacation spot and to encourage it as a sport or leisure exercise. Signed on Oct. 2, Proclamation No. 699 tasked the Philippine Sports activities Fee to guide, coordinate and supervise the observance of the Shifting Ahead Paddling Week Philippines. “The celebration of the Shifting Ahead Paddling Week Philippines goals to advertise the Philippines as a premier paddling vacation spot and encourage all communities to undertake paddling as a sport and a leisure exercise,” the issuance stated. In watersports, paddling is the act of propelling a watercraft utilizing a hand-held paddle with single or twin blades that’s not hooked up to the boat.
